Let me know what type of portrait you are interested in commissioning. A head study, full body, pop art or people and pet portrait. If its a multiple pet portrait how many pets will be in the portrait.
I will then be able to give you a price for your portrait.
Your Photographs
Forward 3 to 4 good clear images of your pet. I realise that this isnt always possible especially in the case of an immortal pet portrait. Please bare in mind that the quality and detail of the images I use in your portrait directly relates to the quality your finished portait
Make sure you mark which is your favourite photo that you would like me to work from, and if the colour is showing true in that photo. I can work from the other photos to reference coat colours etc.
In the case of a multiple pet portrait I can advsie you on which photos will fit together to produce the best portrait.
Once you have decided on the size and style of your pet or pet and people portait. Let me know your pets name and a little bit about them. I like to talk to my portraits as Im creating them so names always add that special connection for me.
You can email me your photos, please send them through at the highest resolution possible, or alternatively you can mail them to me as photos or on a CD. It is important to keep copies incase they go astray in the post whilst this is rare it does happen on occassion..
Your photos will be returned with your portriat.
Decide on what colour frame you would like your finished portrait framed in. To avoid hold ups when your portrait is complete please let me know as early as possible your frame colour choice.
NB: whilst prices on my site are quoted (in Australia) for framed portraits. Quotes are gladly given for unframed pet or pet and people portraits as well.
Do you provide Laybyes?
Yes I do provide a 3 month laybye service. A non refundable fee of $100.00 is applicable to laybyes this covers the cost of materials should you change your mind before final payment and delivery is made. So please bear this in mind if you request a laybye. Regular payments must be made.
How do I arrange a gift voucher?
Email me through a photo of your pet I will place this on a gift voucher card with the details of the portrait size, who the voucher is from and the name of the recipient. I will email you through a copy of the voucher for you to confirm all the details. This will then be mailed to you. Meanwhile I will commence your portrait. As will all portraits a preview will be emailed to you to approve before shipping.
NB: Full payment is required upfront for all gift vouchers.
Do I pay upfront?
Full payment is not required before commencement, however a non refundable booking fee of 1/3 of the portrait value is required. This is to cover the cost of materials etc.
When your portrait is finished I will email you a preview of the portrait. Once you are happy with the portrait, I then ask that the balance of payment be made prior to shipping.
Turnaround to delivery?
The time depends upon the number of commissions I am working on at the time. Turnaround is usually 6 to 8 weeks for single pet portrait images in pastel. Watercolours allow 10 to 12 weeks depending upon the complexity of the painting.
If there is a large number of images in your portrait delivery may be a little longer I will advise you if this is the case when ordering.
For portraits containing people please allow up to 3 months turn around time, this is dependant upon the compexity of the photo used.
How will my finished portrait arrive?
Portraits being delivered within Australia come wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed. They are delivered to your door by a Courier Service. Someone will need to be there to receive the delivery as a signature is required. If this isnt possible a calling card will be placed in your box for collection from the Couriers Depot.
Overseas portraits are covered with a special paper (this prevents the pastle from rubbing) then placed in a tube. All overseas portraits are sent Air Mail.
Damage in Transit
In the unlikely event that a drawing is damaged in transit, the artwork must be sent back to me in its original packaging, upon which I will repair or replace it. Please take a photograph of the damaged packaging and artwork and email this to me.
Overseas clients, please take photos of the artwork and email these to me to discuss the best course of action. All artwork shipped within Australia by courier is covered by insurance. For this reason I always recommend International shipmenting costs include insurance.
Copyright Information
I retain copyright on all the artwork I create. All commissioned artwork is displayed in one of may gallery pages. Customer names, in whole or in part may be used as a testimonial in the customer comments and on the testimonial page. If you would prefer me not to display your comments please let me know when your preview is emailed.
Selected artworks may be licensed to a small cross stitch company in the UK. I will how ever not do this without your consent.
